Simple Stress-Relieving Superpowers with Rebecca Stephans

Our bodies are brilliantly designed to react to stress by increasing strength and energy, and mobilizing survival instincts in a nanosecond. Once we successfully navigate the experience, our body returns to balance. But what if the stress is an ongoing condition of our life or the world around us, rather than just a scary moment in time? Continuously invoking the body’s natural stress response disturbs our wellbeing and makes us more vulnerable to injury, illness, and interpersonal chaos.

Come and explore breathing practices, repetition of calming phrases, and hand shapes (in Sanskrit: pranayama, mantra, and mudra) that you can practice any time and anywhere to ease your alarmed being back into regulation and balance. This class is accessible to all beings of all ages and fitness levels, with or without yoga experience. Participants can practice from a chair or the ground.
