Get ready for an inspiring morning of Yoga on a Mission! Our second annual Sea Change Yogathon at beautiful Ocean Gateway in Portland, Maine will feature a three hour yoga experience that you won’t want to miss. All funds raised will support our mission to bring the healing power of yoga and mindfulness to our neighbors who don’t have access to yoga. More than 150 people turned out to practice Compassion in Action at Sea Change Yoga’s first ever Yogathon last year- and collectively raised over $40,000 to support our mission. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community in our inaugural event in 2019, and our goal is to raise $50,000 this year. Please join us!

Participants will be required to raise a minimum of $200 in a peer-to-peer style. Once registered, you can create a fundraising page to share with friends and family. If a few friends each contribute $10 - $25, you’ll reach your goal quickly! We are here to help you reach your goals! Every dollar you raise helps bring yoga to people in our community’s correctional facilities, substance use recovery centers, transitional group housing, and more. We rise by lifting others. Registration will open in January, 2020.

Need we say more?! Jacqui Bonwell is a 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT-500), Motivational Speaker, Level 2 Balanced Athlete ™ Certified coach, Yin Yoga & Meditation certified, Level 1 FMS Functional Movement Systems certified, Reiki Master, Director of the Sacred Seeds Yoga School (RYS-200hr level, RYS-500hr level) in Greater Boston and New England, as well as the Owner of the Canton Yoga Shala in Canton, MA. She has been an 8 time lead New England presenter for Yoga Reaches Out (YRO) at Gillette Stadium annually for Children's Hospital Boston, a 7 time headliner for the Maine Yoga Festival and regular presenter at Kripalu Retreat Center in Lenox, MA. Her philanthropy efforts have been extensive in the Yoga field with her "team" personally responsible for rallying over $400,000 towards all sorts of charities through Yoga benefit classes & fundraising efforts in the great Boston & New England area.

Jacqui headlined our inaugural Yogathon last year, and we are thrilled to host her again this year! Jacqui will treat us to her signature Chakra Cleanse Vinyasa intensive. (More on this below.)


Robin Ivy Payton, E-RYT/YACEP

Robin completed her 200 hour training with Jacqui Bonwell and continued studies with Maine Yoga School and Pranakriya Yoga, among others. Her yoga offerings include Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Yoga, Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra and specialty workshops involving astrology, the subtle body and other intuitive practices. Yoga Nidra became a regular practice and passion for her in 2013, and she began leading yoga nidra trainings in 2014 and restorative yoga trainings in 2018. Robin currently teaches weekly classes at Greener Postures studios, Southern Maine Community College, Scarborough Yoga, and privately. She is co-leading Maine YogaFest School of Yoga’s 200 Hour Teacher Training from January to June of 2020. Her involvement with Sea Change has included Yoga Nidra teacher training, Yoga Nidra for Veterans and their families and substitute teaching at the Portland Recovery Community Center.

9:00 a.m.  Chakra Cleanse with Jacqui Bonwell - Jacqui’s signature Vinyasa Yoga intensive is a physical journey through the blueprint of the 7 major chakras. Use postures, breath, color, meditation, chanting & sound healing to reach higher internal states. What habits, patterns & responses hold you back from true peace? How can we amplify the things that are going right? Get on the internal good foot and WAKE UP dormant skills & resources that maybe haven't spoken in a while. Get back to the strength you were born with.

10:30 a.m. Mini Break

10:45 a.m. Restorative Yoga/Yoga Nidra with Robin Ivy - Robin will ease you into the quieter practices of Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Experience a gentle transition from movement into longer held yin stretches and naturally progress from stretching to resting and replenishing with a sense of space in both body and mind. Then Robin will guide you into a unique yoga nidra journey. As brain waves decrease, you may experience inner harmony, a sense of true peace and the state of pure consciousness. For maximum comfort, you are welcome to bring a blanket or any prop to support your rest.
