E-RYT 500 Hour Yoga Instructor | YACEP | Reiki II | Herbalist | BA Psychology & Holistic Health | Yin Yoga | Yoga Nidra | Y12SR | TSY | EBT | BlissBaby Yoga

Jennie teaches weekly Sea Change Yoga trauma-informed classes at the Portland Recovery Community Center (PRCC), a safe haven for people in recovery from substance use disorder, and a home for meetings and activities devoted to recovery.

Jennie is a Mainer to the core, an activist, mother, former long distance runner, health food junkie, sailor mouth and woman in long term recovery from addiction. She's proudly been sober since 2014 and works every day to maintain her physical and emotional sobriety. She’s got a fierce dedication to the principles and practice of yoga because yoga saved and transformed her life as she knew it. Jennie’s yoga practice began over 18 years ago and today she still uses it to radically love herself and others and soothe her fiery soul. In her spare time, Jennie is studying to become a certified drug and alcohol counselor, and when she gets the chance you can catch her hiking, dancing, cooking, making herbal medicine and singing. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Maine and teaches for the Recreation Health and Fitness Department and the owner of Arcana, a center for Holistic Health in the Old Port.  Besides working with those in recovery, Jennie's heart work is also training other yoga instructors including over 70 in Southern Maine. She aims to empower her students and clients to participate in their own growth process by teaching practical yoga tools and by encouraging others to remember and reclaim their powerful, divine nature.
