This was a morning of Yoga on a Mission! More than 150 people turned out to practice Compassion in Action at Sea Change Yoga’s first ever Yogathon - and collectively raised over $40,000 to support our mission. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community.

Many thanks to these sponsors:

Yogathon Schedule:

7:30 a.m. Doors open - Registration, Refreshments, Chair Massage, & More

8:45 a.m. Welcome + Top Fundraiser Awards

9:00 a.m.  Easy Like Sunday Morning with Terry Lacy - Soft and easy, like Sunday mornings when you stay in your jammies until noon. For 45 minutes you can leave any worries over whether your feet are parallel or whether you can bend as far as the person on your left can.  Transcend striving, close your eyes, and shift your awareness to calmly bring the spirit of yoga into each movement and ease down the Sunday road of your yoga practice.

9:45 a.m. Welcome Yourself Home with Jen Queally - An invitation to return to oneself thru the courageous and compassionate act of embodiment.  The sequence will invite steadiness and calm as practitioners are called home to their own bodies, minds, and hearts with an experience of connection from the inside out. Students are reminded that the yoga mat is a great laboratory for self inquiry, reflection, and healing. This is an opportunity to return with reverence and without judgement home to ourselves.

10:25 a.m. Mini Break

10:50 a.m. Maitri in Motion with Katie Beane - Maitri is a sanskrit word that translates to benevolence, goodwill, loving kindness, or "an unconditional friendliness toward the self that radiates out toward all others." By all accounts, this quality is one of the greatest gifts of the practice of yoga and meditation. This will be an upbeat and heartfelt practice meant to encourage and develop maitri. Through breath, movement, and guided meditation, grow a greater sense of self-acceptance, and an appreciation of your own being. Move together through a practice designed to celebrate all of the ways yoga makes us better friends to ourselves, and better suited to serve a world in need of our compassion and courage.

11:30 a.m. Full Body Prayer with Jacqui Bonwell - As Yogis we don’t just pray with our hands & our words- we use our whole entire body just to get the point across! Jacquil will masterfully teach the inward & outward prayer of the Yoga practice & purpose. A calculated, dynamic vinyasa portion of class will be balanced out with some restorative yoga poses, yoga nidra & an amazing (at times-hysterical) playlist. Everything will lead you into a dreamy savasana steeped in the echo of crystal bowls.

12:45 p.m. Lunch + Community Celebration
